As part of our learning about Jutland we thought about the different ways we communicate.
We spoke about all the different ways you can communicate - talking, through body language and written (through letters and emails).
We then learned that The Grand Fleet communicated with flags in World War One. They sent messages with flags at Jutland.
Each group was then given a secret message in an envelope. We had to communicate the message to the rest of the class using flags.
Each group then stood at the front of the class and showed them their flag message. The rest of the class had 1 minute to try and break the code!
It was really tricky!!
We realised that this was not a very easy way to communicate and could be easily misread!
